I'm male, aged 65 years. I am married to Margaret, my best friend for 48 years. We live in Scotland, UK.

We have travelled to many places - France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Iceland, Italy, Australia, Canada, USA, Canary Islands, Portugal, Hungary, Israel and most recently we went to Japan - first in 2018 for 3 weeks and then in 2019 for 2 weeks. We absolutely love it there in Japan and both hope to return as soon as possible (we asre in the midst of the dreadful Covid 19 pandemic as I write this). I started to learn conversational Japanese last year and most recently i'm trying to learn Hiragana.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm doing this to improve my understanding of other cultures, to meet many more people and also to learn from others - importantly the Japanese language.
