I grew up in the Maryland suburbs of DC, went to school in Boston, and haven't spent more than six months in any one place since starting college. I studied abroad in the UK, China, and Japan, and besides that have traveled to 22+ countries and all 50 states. I moved to Tokyo May 2016 and am working at an IT consulting company and making my way through the 47 prefectures. I always love the chance to show visitors around and share stories about anything and everything!

The best part of traveling is meeting new people and making friends around the world! Well, food might top that, but second best, maybe ;)

兴趣

Running, snowboarding, hiking, cooking, baking, homebrewing, learning foreign languages (English, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish to varying levels of fluency, as well as rudimentary Russian, French, Dutch, Hebrew, and a lot of random exclamations in a hundred other languages)...and traveling, of course!

I drove to all of the lower 48 states in one trip! Had to take a plane to get to Hawaii and Alaska :) then again, might do the Alaska Highway from Seattle one of these days...

I consider myself pretty outgoing and love the chance to talk with new people, sharing stories of our personal experiences and travels. Also souvenirs from Japan! PS: If you're flying straight to Japan from a country with Chipotle (the fake Mexican food, not the peppers) and you offer to bring me some, there is a 99.999999% chance I will accept your host request. Just leaving some margin of error in there, since I do still have a pretty strict "no serial killers" policy...
