About Me

I'm a 26 year-old with a few unmarketable degrees and a desire to do some good in the world. I've spent the last two years in Moscow, Russia working with issues around racism, nationalism, and racially motivated violence. Now I'm back in the U.S. recruiting partners organizations and individuals interested in being a part of our efforts. That's means living out of a suitcase and hitting a new city every week.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's much more fun to meet folks as I make my way around the U.S. than to stay in the Holiday Inn.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I'm a bit biased in favor of the Avett Brothers, but I'm a fan of all things folk and bluegrass

Movies: I'm Not There, The Last Waltz, anything by the Coen Brothers

Books: I'll do authors since there are too many books to count... Peter Rollins, Jack Caputo, Katherine Keller, Cormac McCarthy, Flannery O'Connor, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Nikolai Gogol

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Half Dome in Yosemite (2009)
Launched the first CSA farm in Moscow, Russia (2014)
Trekked up Mt Elbrus, tallest mountain in Europe (2015)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - I can teach people how to climb a mountain, how to cook food from Georgia ( the country), and what to do if you are getting hassled by police in Moscow

Learn - I'm behind the times, so I'd love to learn how this whole couch surfing thing works.

Share - stories from my travels around the world
