Overview
About Me
I'm an American planetary geologist. I might be a big nerd, but I promise that I'm the cool, fun-loving kind! My work and non-work travels have taken me to some pretty cool places, but I feel like I'm just starting to scratch the surface. I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but most recently lived in Arizona for about 6 years. Now I'm in Nice, France and loving it.
In general, I'm open-minded, respectful, and relaxed, and I enjoy good conversation. I love to cook, make music, explore, go on adventures (or just relax), and gain new perspectives. I'm new to couch surfing but am looking forward to meeting lots of interesting people! Life is all about experiences, right? Let's make it happen!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to travel, meet new people, and learn about other cultures. I love that this community exists and that it all works. Faith in humanity restored ;)
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: rock, jazz, classical, classic rock, electronic, some pop. A little bit of everything! I was a musician in my past life.
Books: Oh boy... I don't know where to begin.
Movies: See answer for books! I'll have to give these some more thought later.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I scooped up fresh lava with a spoon in Hawaii. It was quite hot. I think I lost a few hairs that day.
Teach, Learn, Share
Learn: I am learning French and always learning new recipes to cook. Teach: I can teach you about life in the US, how to fold an origami paper crane, and about planets, space, and NASA Share: I can share stories about my travels or I can share some cooking if you come to my home in Nice :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can talk about space science, geology, beer, cooking. I can tell you about growing up in the United States or what it's like living in France now. If I have free time, I'm happy to show you around town too! But unfortunately, I usually have to work during the day most days of the week, not including the weekend.
Mon français n'est pas parfait, mais c'est assez bon qu'on peut parler, particulièrement si c'est ta langue principale.
