I moved around a lot while growing up . As a result I got to like a lot of things - people, food, music, etc. I'm an avid photographer - made my living at it for a while. I'm a certified BBQ judge (which is the best hobby ever!). I'm a very adventurous eater - I'll try almost anything, in fact, when I see something on the menu I've never had before I'm have to give it a try.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Primarily I hope it will give the opportunity to get to more BBQ contests around the country (see interests).

Beyond that, I think I'll meet some very interesting people.

I'm a certified BBQ judge with multiple certifications, and love to travel around from one competition to another.

I'm an avid photographer. Amateur now, but a long time ago made my living at it.

Although I've worked in technology areas for over 30 years, I still get a kick out of working on broken computers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I never got over my love of music from the 70's and like almost all of it. As for newer stuff, I enjoy listening to it, but I don't really have a lot of knowledge about it. There are many songs I enjoy but I couldn't tell you who sings them. This drives my wife and son crazy because they are really into the details.

My favorite books and movies tend towards Science Fiction and Mystery. Think James Patterson, Clive Cussler, Tom Clancy types books, Jurassic Park (1 and 4), Terminator (1 & 4), the new Star Treks, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Created a son who has grown up to be responsible, socially aware, and fiscally (almost) independent.

Teach, Learn, Share

I was one of those strange kids who, when everyone else went to recess, I went to the library, grabbed a random volume of the World Book, and started reading at a random page. That interest in diverse knowledge follows me to this day and I like to discuss almost any topic you can come up with. Unfortunately, my wife says that having a head full of junk is why I'm always trying to enlighten others about all kinds of stuff.
