About Me

It's always hard to capture a human being into a few lines of words. But I guess what I can say is that I am very open-minded and I don't find it hard to open up myself to other people. A friend of mine once told me that he was shocked at how many things I've shared with him in the first 2-3 conversations with him.

I'm currently studying in a liberal arts university in Berlin. It's a wonderful place with only 150 students who come from 40+ different countries, and the students here have such diverse colourful experiences and personalities. Our school believes in the idea of trans-disciplinarity so I'm studying philosophy, art history, literature, film studies and theatre at the same time. The amazing thing is that I gradually see the interconnectedness among the different disciplines and approaches. It's a weird school for sure, but I fucking love it.

However, as for myself, I think my major interest is in the potential integration of Western (modern) depth psychology and Eastern (or perhaps Perennial) mysticism. Therefore, I think a healthy combination of meditation and psychotherapy to be perhaps the optimal approach for the development of higher stages of consciousness. Although at this stage I'm focusing more on the psychology part than the spiritual part, since I am still at the period of emerging adulthood.

Other than that, I have quite a lot of interesting stories to share. For instance, I once took a 28-day solitary retreat. During that time, I did sooo many bizarre and funny things with myself, a lot of them I find somewhat embarrassing to share, but I usually share them anyway~

That being said, I'm perhaps even more interested in listening to other people's stories, it is always moving whenever I get in touch with the heart of another human being.

And finally, I love to engage in any kind of intellectual discussions or cultural exchanges. In a secular society, I find culture and deep thought to be the project that is far greater than any individual, whatever. But at the same time I'm also down for "brainless chilling".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm interested in getting to know people from different cultures. My perspectives on things always get challenged whenever I speak with someone growing up in a different culture.
