ABOUT ME

I'm 55 years old and live in Humboldt County, California. I've been an Earth First! and green party organizer since the 1980s. The BBC named me a World Historic Figure for being the world's first anti-GMO direct action organizer. I've been a climate crisis organizer almost as long and coined the term "Climate Crisis." because of the urgency of preventing the melting of the polar ice sheets, I'm running for Congress to win. That's why I'm registered Democratic.

I ran for Congress in 2012 and received national attention for smoking a joint to protest the shutting down of medical cannabis dispensaries. I'm running for Congress in 2014 (CA-2). My seven New Green America proposals pick up where Al Gore leaves off, providing a genuine path out of our ecological, economic, and social crises with the urgency and scale the climate crisis requires.

Interests

My interests include music, reading, running, lots of activism for wild nature and compassionate treatment of humans. I'm a community radio programmer at KMUD, a videographer, and over the last year I've learned how to sing almost every song by The Doors. I hope to form a Doors cover band in the next year.
