About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work hard. Play harder.

ABOUT ME

Above anything else, I value freedom, relationships, health, giving back, and having fun with life.

I'm super laid back and will get along with anyone. I love to travel because of the new experiences and cultures. I usually have the most fun traveling alone and getting lost. :)

I'm always up for a new adventure, whether it's partying at bars/nightclubs, hiking in the woods, or simply hanging out, drinking a bottle of wine and having good conversation.

Traveling is my passion and I'd drop everything in a second and travel the world if I could. I've spent time living in New Zealand and two months backpacking through Europe.

I'm building a marketing company that gives me the freedom to work from anywhere in the world.

PHILOSOPHY

My all time favorite quote:

The master in the art of living
Draws no sharp distinction between
His labor and his leisure
His mind and his body
His work and his play
His education and his recreation

He hardly knows which.

He simply pursues his vision of excellence
Through whatever he is doing
And leaves others to determine
Whether he is working or playing

To himself, he is always doing both.

A couple other good ones:

"The Gods envy us. They envy us because we're mortal, because any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed."

"Spend your money how you want, but be careful how you spend your time. You can always make more money... Time is irreplaceable."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Home for me is Des Moines, IA. I grew up in a town of 600 people... which was quite an experience. It taught me how to have fun with absolutely nothing around.

I love meeting new people and, if I'm not busy (and if my roommates don't mind), I'll always have a couch open!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin, LA, and Waterloo, Iowa. I've yet to have a bad experience!

Interests

Learning. Experiencing something new. Having coffee with strangers. Reading. Writing. Procrastination in the form of people-watching. Sitting on a porch and reading a book while listening to a thunderstorm.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books related to marketing, consumer behavior or psychology.

Movies have got to be funny. Shows like Family Guy and The Office are great. But I also like movies with a twist... Fight Club, the Usual Suspects, and American History X are all solid.

I listen to any sort of music. I'm always down for listening to techno or a good DJ. But I also enjoy listening to R&B, jazz, and the occasional musical.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling has opened my small town eyes to a whole new world.
Skydiving in New Zealand - AMAZING
Swimming with dolphins is one of the coolest things I've ever done.
Living in New Zealand for five months with those awesome Kiwis. I'm convinced it's the greatest country on earth.
Backpacking in Europe for two months while living on trains, in hostels, and with sweet people from CS.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, Fiji, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland
