About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Paying off my school debts as fast as possible, and getting out of the country for awhile thereafter!

ABOUT ME

I grew up a complete nerd, but life is about so much more...gradually I've become less shy and introverted and more into having good times with friends. I get bored easily, so I want to experience new lands and cultures.

PHILOSOPHY

I tend to question everything, I try not to be a stereotypical product of the time and place in which I live. I've often been really serious and wanted to have a unique, meaningful life, but right now I'm just kind of floating, and enjoying the world. I'm always seeking new experiences, chasing the unexpected. Right now I'm itching to spend time in a different culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to find interesting things to do and and have a great time doing that with new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't actually couchsurfed yet, but I've had fun meeting couch surfers from all over the world :)

Interests

Caving, climbing, biking, anything that involves slight risk of bodily harm...

Music, Movies, and Books

I like mostly electronic dance and modern music. I play piano and write music myself :) Two examples at opposite extremes: Bela Bartok - An Evening in the Village / Fantastic Plastic Machine - I Think
I recently read Don't Sleep, There are Snakes, a book about a missionary who lived with an obscure tribe in the Amazon, learned their language, and ended up losing his faith.
I've seen too many movies, but they are almost all indie or foreign, so you may get the impression that I've been living under a rock...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some friends and I recently spent 64 hours exploring a cave, enduring basically every physical discomfort and inconvenience imaginable in an attempt to connect it to another cave nearby.

Teach, Learn, Share

Computers and music are the two things I'm an expert at. I also like overly deep linguistic discussions so if you're trying to perfect your English ask me anything about it!
