I am a first generation American, my parents are from Togo, Africa. I go to the City University of New York at Hunter College and will be graduating in may. I love meeting new people, cooking, playing music (I am a DJ and in a band and a performance artist) as well as writing poetry and other assorted art things. I have a passion for travel and learning about new places and hope to explore the world one day. For now my aspirations are becoming a city planner.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet new people in new places and get to know the city from their perspective. There's nothing else like it. Local's know their city best, period, beyond any app or guide or forum. The only way to learn about the true spirit of a city is through listening and learning from residents.

I want to get to know a city for all its culture, history , beauty and depth as well as the simple pleasures that make the everyday so revelatory and fruitful. Every person has a story to tell about the place they live and hearing that story truly makes me happy.

I want to learn from everyone I meet about what makes their experiences so unique and beautiful in the urban environment and I want to work to develop and maintain places that are truly fruitful to be in.
