ABOUT ME

Hi, everyone! My name's Andy, 32, from Mendoza, Argentina but made Allyah in Tel Aviv, Israel.
I describe myself as a friendly and open minded person but the attribute I prefer the most is "dilettante": a person who follows the impulses of his pleasure and his tastes.

I was born in Buenos Aires but I moved to Mendoza at the age of two. I studied to be a chef and I worked always as a pâtissier but then I decided to start a new career: business administration.
Both academic carriers allowed me to do what I love the most: studying foreign languages and travelling, as I studied cooking in Mexico and I did internships in Basque Country.

Nowadays, I'm working in hi-tech and exploring new horizons.

As a hobby, I collaborate on a movie blog, ficciones.com.ar and I'm into hiking, nature, dancing, meditation and baking.

As most people, I love good company around a table with good food and nice music.
I think visiting somewhere with locals makes the experience much more interesting and enriching, that's why I choose CS experience rather than staying in a hostel. I want to share that experience with other people. I like helping others and be useful. Don't hesitate to ask me.

I enjoy meeting new friends and hanging around :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For many years I thought I had nothing to share in this space. Then, a few months ago I reflected on the idea of telling something that it is amazing indeed but is not as something most people expect to be.
Back in 2014, I was working in a Hostel in the Basque Country and after work, I decided to go for a bike ride in the afternoon. Ten minutes after, the breaks weren't working and I bumped into a rock and suffered an exposed fracture of the right tibia. I was alone, without the cell phone, or passport and night were falling. Surprisingly a man saw me in the distance and he helped me with his daughter. He knew first aids and could stop the haemorrhage and call the ambulance. Fortunately, one hour later they were operating me without asking me if I could pay the operation. The next day I was told that I had been very lucky not to lose my leg and had been put in an external tutor. I spent two weeks in the hospital hosted by the loving nurses (which I keep in touch with today) and where I was taught to move and walk with crutches.
When I came back to the hostel, my mates and my bosses were super helpful and I tried to stay as long as possible to finish my job. But then complications appeared and I had to return to Argentina.

This fracture was a rebirth, my life changed completely and nothing was the same after this accident, even because I had to relearn to walk, jump and run again. My perspective on life turned 360 degrees and I do not regret at all having had that accident that taught me to see the difference between living and existing.
