About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experiencing lifestyle, culture and sights of where I am.

ABOUT ME

I am a fun loving, active person who is slowly exploring the world. So far I have enjoyed trips in Australia, New Zealand, California, Vanuatu, Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, Belguim, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic and Laos. I enjoy meeting new people and finding out about them. I love exploring the history and culture of the places I visit and I also am inspired by the magical scenery that presents itself.

PHILOSOPHY

I find fulfilment in everything I undertake (including chores) and am rewarded by completion or improvement. I am at peace with who I am and know my limitations (mostly). I enjoy new adventures, meeting people and listening to their stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been actively hosting surfers for a number of months and am absolutely hooked. I spent 7 months backpacking around Europe in 2013/14 and atyed with many of the families of people I had hosted and have since been to Laos to catch up with another. I have had a break from the Couchsurfing website but have still hosted many people from Europe who have been friends of people that I stayed with on my trip. I have found the experience to be an awesome way to meet people and through which to share your experience of the local community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted many Couch Surfers and used the network of friends I have established more than CS requests in my own travels. I tend to move too quickly and without any plan for hosts to respond in time. I look forward to meeting people and creating new friendships. I have camped and used hostels on my own travels. Through this I have met some great people but I find it less personal than some of the organised adventure trips and CS opportunities I have been on, where you tend to spend more quality time interacting with the people you meet.

Interests

Walking, camping, bushwalking, reading, skiing (novice), swimming, body surfing, lifesaving (ocean), beach sprinting, reading, listening to music, Bikram Yoga, weight-training, bike riding, keeping fit, social drinking, cooking, dancing, problem solving, breakfast with friends. Currently getting my sailing qualifications so that I can self charter with friends in the Greek Islands 2016.
