ABOUT ME

Hi hi hi, I'm Andy. I'm a New Zealander living in the Uk, I came over here 5 years ago and have been traveling round Europe while I'm here. I've traveled mostly into Eastern Europe (I fell in love with this place!) but have been a little bit around Africa and Canada as well.

I'm a pilot by trade and at the moment I'm employed to fly for the Coast Guard. While I'm on standby I'm building a classic car - anything to keep off the boredom - but whenever I have enough time I try to get away and see some places.

I like conversation over a coffee or a few beers and I also enjoy going out to student or independent type places as well.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not too much at the moment, I've only just joined. I'm going traveling to New Zealand and want to couch surf while I'm there to get into it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time on couchsurfing but I've spent a lot of my travels sleeping on the couches of friends or on the couches of their friends. I spent a week living with some really great people in a co-operative shared house in Montreal and I slept on couches in Eastern Europe and all over the UK. I'm going home to New Zealand soon and I plan to do some couchsurfing there.

Traveling is my biggest interest, I would love to do more than I am at the moment but hopefully I will be moving again soon. I just like being on the move and meeting new people, whether it be on the bus, plane or wherever.

At the moment I have a lot of spare time on my hands because of my job (I spend a lot of time on standby) so I have a few things to keep me occupied. I spend time working with mechanical things, namely engines, also riding motorbikes - I want to do some long distance traveling on a bike one day.

French electro-pop and other groups like Sigur Ros and another few different things. I'm generally into most music As for books, classic and political novels like 1984 and The Man in the High Castle are my favorites.
