I am loyal to a fault and I hate taking advantage of people or being taken advantage of. I'm usually very quiet around new people, especially in group situations. I prefer getting to know people one on one.
I have a great poker face and a very dry sense of humor.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In 2012 I couchsurfed across the USA. In 2013 I'm traveling around France and England with my girlfriend ( http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/blueearth/ ), meeting people and exploring new places wherever we go:

Couchsurfing is awesome! I love meeting new people and exchanging new or old ideas, learning and growing from each encounter.

I love to dance! Exploring new towns, cities and landscapes. Watching people and playing games. Disrupting routines and engaging sleepwalkers. I'm a dreamer and a joker.

Some favorites include The Beatles, Radiohead, Tin Bird Choir, The Avant Gardeners, Elixir!, The White Stripes, Louis Armstrong, Modest Mouse, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Iron Horse, Regina Spektor, Ane Brun, Giant Robot Dance, Perpetual e-Motion and other stuff.

Books: mostly fiction
1984, LotR + The Hobbit + The Silmarillion, East of Eden, Travels with Charlie, Log from the Sea of Cortez, A Song of Ice and Fire (series), Paulo Coehlo's works, Conversations with God and other stuff

Movies: artsy fartsy stuff to plotless action flicks
Almost everything out of Studio Ghibli, particularly My Neighbor Totoro, Laputa Castle in the Sky, Grave of the Fireflies, and The Cat Returns
Amelie, LotR both new and old, King Kong (old), Memento, Waking Life, Star Wars (original trilogy), Paprika, Akira, Delicatessen, "Run, Lola, Run", "Goodbye, Lenin", Requiem for a Dream and other stuff.

Watching a sunrise at the Grand Canyon was one of the most beautiful sights I've ever witnessed.

Hitch-hiking around the United States taught me a lot about myself, people and life. The selfless kindness I received on my journies renewed my optimism about humanity.
