COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Though new to this site (June 2008), I'm a veteran couch-surfer, couch-provider. Most all of my experiences have been positive: whether involving close friends, recent acquaintances, or friends by remove, I enjoy the talks, the walks, the shared coffee/meals/beers, and the alchemy of sharing and welcome/thanks condensed in couchsurfing no matter which side of the relationship you may inhabit.

Like so many others, I feel traveling is more a state of mind than bound to a ticket. Faulker once claimed that his home town of Oxford, Mississippi--no larger than a "postage stamp"--was ample terrain to explore the human condition. I like students of such postage stamps of everyday life, whether they be at home or on the road.
