About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Spend some airmiles I forgot that I had

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in London. After university I worked for a while, then got fed up working long hours so I went travelling around Asia, and then moved to China to study Mandarin.

I'm now back in my hometown, ready to order Chinese food like a pro. Despite coming back, I still have the travelling bug (hence the reason I'm still on here) and am keen to see more of Europe and my own country.

PHILOSOPHY

If life gets boring, change something.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Back in Xi'an (China), I helped people that moved there settle into the city and hosted backpackers who were passing through. I hosted a couple of people in Shanghai too.

In recent times, I haven't done much at all - I currently live with 4 others, and we tend to have various friends staying at different times, so it's a pretty hectic place already (plus they aren't on this site). If you want to meet for a drink or sightsee though give me a shout.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think all my experiences have been good. Even the worst one...

When I was at university a friend of mine visited my town and asked to sleep on my couch for a night. One night turned into a weekend, a weekend turned into a week (after a week he started receiving post)... It was 4 months before I eventually had to throw him out (we're still friends now though).

The positive thing about it though was that after two weeks he started paying a little bit of money as rent, so while we were students my housemates and I ate steak once a week.

(N.B - I'm not hinting that if I request to surf your couch it will be for several months)
