About Me

ABOUT ME

Im a pretty positive, easy going dude. I tend to get along with nearly everyone I meet. Not because I think everyone is great, I just try to find the good things and the similarities rather than focus on the things which separate us. I have an open mind and love new experiences. I am a very social person and find myself quite comfortable in front of both large audiences and 1 on 1 chats.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and seeing all the different ways to exist on this earth. I also love having friends all over and not feeling like such an outsider when I come to new places. The beauty of peoples' hospitality presents an instant openness between the surfer and the host which leads to a nice connection that is often not found while traveling otherwise.

Interests

I really love creating, both individually and collaboratively. Whether it be songwriting, short video writing, logo/graphic design, editing, drawing, building, it doesn't really matter the medium so much. My favorite medium is music and song. I find that the element of sound is an amazing tool at moving people, healing people, expressing myself and spreading good vibes. I am also quite interested in spirituality. I have a very open mind thanks to my travels and believe that we all have our own ways of figure this life out the best that we can according to our individual circumstances. I love traveling for many reasons including the indescribable essence of place that each new location has. Its quite addictive to me. It also makes me appreciate where I came from and who I am to a greater degree as I know what I have to compare it to....I love having a good chat with people from around the world and especially love a good jam session. Couch surfing is great place for both I find.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I will never forgot the first time I bungee jumped. It was at the Last Resort in Nepal and I had a large fear of doing it before I actually stepped up to the platform to jump off. A great peace came over me unlike anything I'd ever felt before and as I jumped I truly felt eternal, like death was not a concern of mine. This changed the way I felt about life and death and I am very grateful to have had such an experience.

Another fantastic moment came when traveling in India with my good friend Pat. We met up with some fellow travelers who told us of a ¨jam session¨ near the sight of the old Beatles Ashram in Loxman Jula, Rishikesh nearby where we had been staying. A group of about 7 of us walked there and found the place to be empty. However, the owner had a drum and a guitar and we began making quite a good deal of happy noise, drinking tea and carrying on. An older, bearded white man dressed like a Saddu holy man came into the little hut quite unassumingly and had his tea and dinner while watching us. He left for a bit, we commented on him and thought him interesting, and carried on. He then came back a few minutes later with an electric guitar and makeshift amp that he had pieced together from parts he had found over the years around the area (both the guitar and the amp). Once he began to jam with us we truly created an atmosphere and energy I will never forget. One of those timeless moments where you forget that the world outside exists. These are the moments I live for and look forward to every time I travel.
