About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

My name is Andy. I love to learn and to practice speaking French and Spanish, which is why I am traveling through Spain and France now.

In December I left behind a routine existence in order to learn to stray from the path in front of me, to be brave enough to displace myself and see how it is when life is unpredictable.

Like many people of my generation, I have rejected the American dream of working until one is useless in order to finance cars and houses.

After college I worked in foreclosure prevention, helping struggling homeowners negotiate lower payments on their mortgages. It was a difficult but rewarding experience. The people who dealt most easily with the process were the terminally ill clients. In the grand scheme of things, a house is a thing, not your life, they taught me. There was a certain serenity about them, like they knew something that the rest of us have yet to learn.

I am an easygoing and sincere person. I like food and conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am currently traveling through Europe. I have hosted before and when I return to the US again I would love to host more adventurers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed in Paris, Dublin, Galway, and Aix-en-Provence and have had wonderful experiences.

It has been a lot of fun! I never realized how many friendly, cool and helpful people there are in the world! The two best things about CS are the exchange of ideas and communal meals. These two things make existence into something human and cultural. We all have memories and stories, and sharing them with each other as we break bread is a source of happiness for me.
