About Me

Hello my friends, my name is Andy Johnson and I'm from the Central Valley in California. I absolutely love this beautiful place. My home is located near all the best sites in California including Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks. I am lucky to live close to mountains, beaches, deserts, and beautiful rivers and lakes. This affords me many opportunities to take advantage of my favorite things such as camping, hiking, swimming, riding motorcycles and mountain bikes, sailing, and sking (both water and snow). I love the outdoors and I try to be in the dirt as much as I can. I'm happiest climbing a rock, cooking on a campfire or just chillin' in a hammock between a couple of beautiful tall pine trees. I enjoy being a bit of a goofball, life is too short to take so seriously. I try to live for the moment because nothing ever happens in the future, it's about right now. Share a smile or make me laugh and we can be friends forever. Put your guard down and love me and I'll love you right back.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined couchsurfing as a way to meet new people, it's been such a great experience. this great big world becomes smaller and smaller with each person that I host. I would much rather learn things about other people and their cultures from them personally and not from the television which rarely reports good news. I have hosted guests from all over the world, and have genuinely enjoyed all the time that I have spent with each one.

Interests

what can I say... I am of eclectic style and taste. Sometimes you can't choose what moves you. I am passionate about learning the skills that we have lost to convenience. For the last few years we've been hard at work on our urban farming project... small scale, large harvest. Projects inclued; chicken coup, raised bed garden, hanging pallet herb garden, solar shower, compost toilet, biomass heater, water reclamation system, edible fruit fence, composting, and outdoor BBQ kitchen, with plans for rabbits and tilapia. When I slip out of my overalls... I like to clown around!! I walk on stilts ride unicycle, juggle, and of course attempt goofy magic tricks (one shouldn't be too serious).
