ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty easy going guy. I love being on the road waking up in a new city every few days, but i'm also really close with my family and my sister just had her first daughter, so at times i'm torn. I plan on traveling till my early 30's and eventually settling down.

I love being outside running, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, having campfires, geocaching. I take my camera wherever I go and take tons of pictures.

I love to write and play music. Sometimes it's hard to get me motivated, but once i am it's impossible to stop me, well that is until i lose interest and move onto something else, but i'm always doing something.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, I haven't had any official couch surfing experiences, since i'm just setting up my account, but ever since I graduated High School I've practically been surfing couches. All of my friends know that I bring my backpack with me wherever I go, and I always have a toothbrush. All through college, even when I had my own place, I'd stay on my friends couches. It wasn't until this last year when I started touring that I've been able spread my couch surfing wings. Most of my tours involve me traveling to cities where my friend's have moved so I can crash with them. This site has opened me up to a whole new world of possibilities. I love meeting people in new cities. I love exploring and taking pictures. I will play house concerts, and i've been known to do the dishes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Ben Folds, Jars of Clay, Jonathan Penn, CCR, The Beatles, Damien Rice, Bon Iver, The Khrusty Brothers, The Format, Switchfoot, Foo Fighters, Hall & Oates, 80's pop music.

Movies: Little Miss Sunshine, Tommy Boy, Dumb and Dumber, Superbad, Slackers, Christopher Guest movies, Ben Stiller movies, but these are just the ones that I will watch over and over. I like most dramas and comedies, but it's got to have a good plot. I don't like shoot 'em up movies, and i'm not big on chick flicks.

Books: Ecclesiastes, Harry Potter series, Donald Miller books, but now i don't have much time for reading since i drive so much. I do, however, listen to loads of podcasts to expand my mind. I love all of the "How Stuff Works" podcasts, especially "Stuff You Should Know" and "Stuff You Missed in History Class". I'm also a big fan of "The News from Lake Wobegon" and "This American Life".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to spend 3 weeks in China, climb a hill/mountain. In high school i was big kid, but got motivated and lost 60 pounds in a year.
