Overview
About Me
Hi, there! I am twenty four years old and have discovered since sixteen a passion for traveling. I grew up all my entire life in the Northeast part of Brazil, in Natal, although I moved to the Southern region of my country, in Curitiba, to pursue my studies in Bioengineering. A year ago, I was based in France to study abroad for two semesters and this was my first time ever in Europe - got to visit almost thirty countries! I like meditating, doing yoga and weightlifting, writing postcards and letters to my people, fermenting my own kombuchá and singing and discovering different genres of music. A fun fact about me: I also count daily the days of my life!
I have already lived in Michigan, Ann Arbor, by virtue of a scholarship and have performed a scientific internship in Quebec, Trois-Rivières, two years ago. I do not have social media in general, yet I maintain a personal traveling newsletter-blog: https://dedeypelomundo.substack.com.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used Couch Surfing during 2019, when a good friend of mine and I went backpacking for a month in Uruguay and Buenos Aires. We got hosted twice and I feel honored by the experiences that the network provided to us. I like how connections are made and feel flattered by the feasible intercultural exchange.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book novel by far is My Brilliant Friend, from Elena Ferrante. I also like authors such as Garcia Marquez, Isabel Allende, Vargas Llosa, Jorge Amado. Could you believe lately I have not watched so many movies anymore? For TV shows, I like Normal People and It’s a Sin.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I feel privileged for having earned three independent scholarships to pursue my studies abroad: it is a mixture of luckiness and perseverance. Yet the most amazing thing I have ever done was jumping in a -17 ºC frozen lake just for the fun of it. I have already also won an on-line contest with a full-paid trip to San Francisco as a prize!
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe every conviviality will bring its positive and negative assets. It is thus a matter of dialogue among parties to comprehend impressions, as well as taking in relevance the differences within distinct realities and cultures.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Great talks, keen company, time to cook together, sightseeing together, and... the possibility of sharing postcards and letters in the near future :)
