About Me
ABOUT ME
Web developer, eccentric. People lover and conversationalist. I like to think I am both opinionated and open-minded.
PHILOSOPHY
I love technology, and I love nature, trees, animals and all that lovely stuff, but the real joy in life comes in knowing people. I haven't imagined any God into existence, but I do believe in people. Sites like this make me are a great reminder of how lovely we are as a species.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'll host in London. I realize its a popular destination and can appreciate it's hard to get Londoners to give up a seat on the tube, let alone a couch in their home. Proud to live in London, and proud to NOT be a Londoner (with all the big city 'me-first' mentality that it entails). I also look forward to catching up with people I've hosted from South America and Europe.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Was put up by a couple of great hosts in Lincoln , NE in 2013. After that I started hosting in London. We've hosted lots of great people in the years hence.
Since then we've had loads of great guests and I've surfed my way across America.
I learn something new from every couch surfing experience, be it surfing or hosting. I've made great friends and had encounters I'll never forget.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Cerebral dramas, dark comedies, crime capers, political dramas.
Music: Hip hop, rock, classical, jazz, bits of other genres.
Books: I don't read. Technically, I can read, but I don't often do so for fun. Never caught the bug. Avid readers leave me in awe, but I can never stay awake long enough to make any real impact on a book. Reading is hard work for me! I do love the spoken word though, and will happily be read to. I spent 4 weeks listening to 'Hitch hikers Guide' while driving across the USA. I'm also a podcast addict.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jazz club in Bleaker Street, NYC in 2001 was a real 'pinch me, I must be dreaming' moment. Smoky dark club we stumbled across, nice beer, smiling faces and a big black guy belting out jazz numbers on stage. I've had a few of those moments, none of them related to great views of nature or rare animal spottings, but times when I've found myself with great people doing great things. Some of my couch surfers and hosts count among these encounters.
Drove across the USA in a month, taking in 16 states and meeting a whole load of people who I wish I'd been able to spend longer with.
Teach, Learn, Share
Decent cook (SE Asian, British, Italian, other), world's best dancer, stand-up comedy/joke-telling/yarn spinning, alcohol tolerance, beer brewing, distilling, technology, bad poetry.
We LOVE to cook and eat new things here, so if you can come and cook something distinctive to your home, then that would be great. I'd be happy to cook for you my plats de resistance are:
- Dolly Pot Garlic Prawns (Best prawn dish you're ever likely to taste- as long as we can get good prawns)
- Sinegang (Filipino sour soup with pork- probably my fave meal)
- Laska (Malaysian red curry soup)
- Paella (Spanish rice)
- Full English Breakfast (This is a popular one, being distinctive to Britain)
I can teach you about beer, and if you're here I'll likely to tinkering with a brew at some stage of the brewing process. If I have some ready for consumption, you'll definitely be invited to try.
