Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on a road trip across the country, starting from Michigan and heading to the west coast. I’d like to experience what couchsurfing is all about, I’ve heard so many good things about the community. Everyone I’ve met that’s tried it seems to speak very highly of it. I’d also like to learn the ropes of hosting so that once I get back to Michigan I can have a bit of experience under my belt before having a guest.

Interests

I’m fond of reading, but apparently I’m only interested in the first half of books. Looking around me right now, I have 5 that I’m in the middle of. A moderate movie buff; I like movies and series’, but there’s so much to watch - I can’t find the time to keep up with the compounding growth of entertainment! :o I enjoy festivals of all kinds and meeting the interesting oddlings that frequent them. I’m also into attempting to maintain my practice of yoga and meditation, but the mind seems to wander.. so I start again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't think that you necessarily have to know something in order to teach it to someone else. I believe in passive influence to be one of the best teaching styles. You never know how you might effect another person's life, even if in the smallest way.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully I can share my experiences and my company. I like to see myself as a fairly present and self-aware person, so I can be as helpful or as out of the way as you need me to be. My goal when staying with others is to make their life easier for having me instead of more difficult.
