Staying curious | Travelling to Asia
ABOUT ME
I'm a Spanish girl who accidentally ended up living in London, where there is always something going on but people never have time to appreciate it!
Passion no.1: Traveling!!!!
I love food and I'm a pretty good cook; not a vegetarian (yet!); Lea&Perrins is essential for cooking fish (fact!).
I love reading too, I love children books and essays about psychology and philosophy.
I like watching movies and documentaries about nature and art above all.
And well, I love nature, the open spaces in the wild, and I can't be happy if I don't see the sea at least once every 6 months.
I dislike selfishness and very loud unnatural noises. I'm a pacifist and a little bit of an anarchist. I believe that "All you need is love" and so I practice that!
I'm travelling with my boyfriend, also Spanish and very good fun, around the world. He appears with me on some of the pictures :-) We are both very chill, honest, open-minded and trustworthy. We don't mind to lend a hand to whoever needs it, and in general, we like very much the same little things in life: going to the movies, to a concert, for a walk... I think we get along very well with everyone because of our laid back nature and so far we never had problems with anyone. We both have such lovely and great memories from all of these encounters with housemates, friends, other travelers... Life is sharing!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately as I live in a flat-share I'm not in the position of hosting couch surfers all of the time, but I'd be very happy to contribute in any other way to your trip, for example, showing you the city around or giving you tips for your time here in London or sharing a meal with you!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never done Couchsurfing before, and I suppose that's because until now, when travelling, I didn't mind to sleep either in cheap hostels or the streets! But I think it's something that really matches my way of living, I want to give it a go and now it's just the right moment for it, as I'm going to be travelling for several months and on the tightest of the budgets.
For young people like me that comes from a humble upbringing it can be challenging to travel around the world as we do not get any economical support from anyone but ourselves, and due to the hassle that means saving money for months whilst still paying all your bills normally is not much the people who decide to go for a trip instead than for a local night out. So I believe in lending a hand to other brave fellow travelers whenever I can, and I have done it in the past, giving a ride to someone who was hitchhiking or sharing meals with people who had already run out of money. It can only bring good karma, right? :-D And is good for the soul to share not only the good experiences and a polite or interesting chat, but also whatever little you have with someone who's in need and is aiming for something big.
I believe this website is an amazing tool to find people who think like me and might also have had these very same difficulties and so, understand how tricky can be to decide not to do what everyone think is the right thing to do with my age - that's, work very hard, go on a short holiday now and then, save for a mortgage, and so on. Nothing against that, it's only that's not me at all! I want to travel all the world around and I don't want any chains, as utopian as it sounds :-)
I see Couchsurfing as a beautiful way to get advice and help from seasoned travellers and to connect with others who are heading your same destination and can share their ideas with you... And that's why I'm on board!
Interests
Everything! I'm a curious being and I'm into everything, really.
I'd love to learn a little bit more about gardening and growing organic food. I think I would do it very well, at least at singing to the plants! :-) For this I'll be also Workingaway with my other half in our way to Asia. We are very eager to learn how to be self-productive (is this right? is this English??), how it is to live closer to nature and in constant exchange with it.
What else... When visiting a city or a new place, I have to say that I prefer to get lost in its alien streets and interact with its people rather than to visit museums (I visit museums sometimes too but it comes second), I like to feel that I am completely lost and that I have an excuse to bother people with my questions hehehehe
WHAT I AM NOT INTERESTED ON:
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and similar. Please, please, please! don't get me wrong. And if I mention this is because you can't imagine how people can behave towards other that have decided to keep themselves a little bit more private on the internet.
I truly believe that we are all made to share experiences and knowledge but that's one thing and another one is to publish every single second of your life on the internet - or to live with a mobile phone glued to your hand, for that matter. I think leaving some blank spaces in your life story before you actually meet someone face to face is part of the magic of growing a friendship.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind what other people do with their lifetime but I do not do neither I own an account in Facebook&Friends and I hope not to be judge by this or to be expected to share too much online before to meet the real you in person. Let's keep it real being real humans! :-D
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I have ever done was quitting my formal education, moving out from Spain, flying to Ireland to start fresh all by myself - that's what got me into traveling and gave me the chance to meet my other half: it saved my life!
Most amazing thing ever seen? The sun rising up everyday.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can't teach too many things, but I'm always happy to cook meals and share recipes, or to speak in English or Spanish in order to improve my level or you level in any of these languages. I have got a way with children, so also happy to give a hand with them.
