About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding the best place in Australia, where we want to spend the next years!

ABOUT ME

We are new on Couchsurfing.com and have been traveling the seven seas for the past months, taking a big break and sleeping on many kind people's couches that we met on our way.
Our last stop is Australia, where we will stay for several years.
Matt is English, Anet is German. We got our Australian 5-year working visas and are leaving Europe for good, believing that Australia is a great place to live and enjoy live.

Our current quest is to find the BEST PLACE IN AUSTRALIA where we want to spend the next years!

PHILOSOPHY

We try to live every day as if it would be our last one.
We are very curious about cultures and people and try to learn from them as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We want to meet new people.
As soon as we have a real home again and are new proud owners of a couch ourselves, we are ready to offer it to CSers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Plenty of couches we slept on, generously offered by people that we met during our travels.
Sweetest couch I ever slept on, was in Sweden. The 13 of our travel group - rafting the Klaralven river for a week - were completely soaked by the continuous rain and we were very cold. At night we stopped and got on land, found a barn nearby and slept in the hay (At least it was dry.) The next morning the owners found us, brought us breakkie, offered us lunch and somehow organized 13 (!) mattresses for us to stay the next night.
How sweet is that! There was a sauna, too, (of course, we were in Sweden), so we could heat ourselves up to endure the rest of the rainy river trip.

Interests

Traveling, outdoors, nature, concerts, music, exhibitions, cooking and enjoying good food and wines.
We are windsurfers and bikram yogis, but we also love mountain biking, rafting, hiking, snowboarding and sailing.

Teach, Learn, Share

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didnt do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.
Dream.
Discover.."
Mark Twain
