Hi everyone!
I was born and raised in southern Bohemia, but moved to Brno to study at Masaryk University.
Currently I'm a double degree student studying Media Studies and Journalism and English Language and Literature. I also have a part-time job as a translator for a medical and publishing company.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Just like everyone here, I love traveling. And by that I mean real traveling, not tourism. Not just that it's a great way to improve my language skills, for me it's the best way of personal development. It's full of challenges and overcoming them gives me some of the greatest joys of all. Traveling enriches my life, opens my eyes, gives me new perspectives, it helps me discover who I really am.

Traveling is an adventure worth having, I believe it's important to see what’s out there. And getting to know a country, its culture and habits is most effective by meeting locals since they can give you a glimpse on their everyday life.

Interests

I love creative writing.
When I was 8 years old, I wrote my first novel and I haven't stopped writing since. Writing creates doors from reality to other alternate worlds. Here, anything is possible. When I write, I’m not bound by Earthly limitations, I can let my imagination do whatever it shows. Anything I can think of can become true within the pages of a book.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't prefer any particular kind of music (although I don't think you'd ever see me listening to rap or heavy metal or something like that), I just listen to what catches my ear. Often I don't even know what the genre of the song is.
It also depends on what mood I'm in or what I'm doing. I'd say oldschool rock and pop are the closest to my heart, but not necessarily.
I usually listen to the radio while driving or writing and I don't really care what kind of song it is, I just enjoy having that musical background.

I'm a huge TV shows and movie fan, so for me it's impossible to name just one. Again, I don't care that much about the genre. It's the actors that are more important to me. Once I like an actor, I always watch everything they've ever shot, no matter how good or bad the picture is.
In general I enjoy dramas, movies based on true story, mysteries, thrillers, psychological movies, sometimes fantasy (LOTR, HP)...
Speaking of TV shows, I love Friends, TBBT, HIMYM, The Office, My Name Is Earl, Scrubs, Roseanne (sitcoms are always a good choice), Sherlock, Lost, GoT etc. And as a kid I absolutely loved a german TV show Alarm für Cobra 11, I still watch it in German now and then.

As a kid, I used to read everything I had at hand, I especially loved books by Jacqueline Wilson, now I'm still searching for my top author.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending a year in Germany as an exchange student at the age of 16.

Hitchhiking across the whole Germany all the way to northern Austria and meeting amazing people on the road.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like talking about things I love, such as movies, TV shows or books, and it'd be great to get to know something interesting about you!
I could teach you some Czech, if you're interested. I used to give English lessons, so why not Czech lessons?
Personally I really like foreign languages and am always happy to learn at least a little bit of a new one :)
