I am a 50 year-old nurse with 2 kids: 18yo in college and 11 yo in middle school. The older daughter is usually doing college things. The youngest spends most of the weekend with his dad. (I am divorced.) My kids and I live 1/2 a mile from the beach and the bay in Pacific Beach, San Diego. Other than work and raising my kids, I enjoy rollerskating and learning to play the ukulele. Traffic in and out of Pacific Beach is bad, so I usually stay right in my town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to open my house to people all over the world on the weekends. I hope to make friends all over the world. One day, I hope to stay with these new friends when I visit their city.

I don't leave PB except for work and errands, so those that couchsurf with me will have to find transportation around San Diego. We have a poor public transportation system, so most San Diegans use Uber or Lyft to get around. There is so much fun in PB if you love the ocean and the bay. We have a rental and instruction shop for every ocean sport! There are so many ocean sport rental shops here! The ocean is about 64 degrees (18 degree Celcius).

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is whatever my kids are passionate about. My older child likes electronic music, emo, concerts. She lives for EDC in Las Vegas and the YouTube Convention in Los Angeles. My son is all about basketball. You can ask him any fact about NBA history. They control the music. I need the house quiet for about an hour at bedtime so I can fall asleep. Then they can turn the music on again.
Movies: I enjoy action comedies, and happy-ending comedy romances. I don't watch a lot of tv. As a matter of fact, I don't usually have a tv hooked up in the house. I hook it up when we want to watch something through the apple TV.
Books: I read so much for work that I hardly read outside of work.

I roller skate dance with a team called the Old School Skaters. You can watch our videos on YouTube on Paul Dunham's YouTube site. I can help you roller skate. The beach boardwalk is 4 blocks west from my house. We can skate down the boardwalk.

If you want to play, watch, or officiate derby, I am an official with all the local teams.

I have been playing the ukulele for almost a year. Never played an instrument before. I love playing with singers. It motivates me to learn.

I like hiking, power walking, going to the gym. I am a member of 24 Hour Fitness. There is a gym 5 blocks from my house.

I am a really bad cook. I usually buy a dish from a local cheap restaurant and then chop up chicken and add rice to bulk it up to last another 3 meals. If I won the lottery, I would hike a chef first.

If I stayed with you, I can talk about Pacific Beach, roller skating and nursing. I love to sightsee. I am hoping to find the local roller skating dancing group in your area and skate with them.
