About Me
IMPORTANTE:
Eu não estou aceitando solicitações de brasileiros no momento, pois estou focando em experiências internacionais. Desculpe 😔 mas terei o maior prazer em sair para um hang out ;))
Greetings!
My name is Angela, I am from Brazil and I am a very open minded and curious person. I like to hear people from all over the world telling their stories (sorry, sometimes I can behave like a psychologist and ask a lot of questions haha), so maybe that's why I'm passionate about learning languages. I spend most of my free time studying Russian, Swedish, English, Italian, Hebrew and even Portuguese (my native language). If I could have more energy and time, I would like to learn even more, like Swahili, Arabic and German (but I'm absolutely not capable 🤣) . So I decided to study "Letters", Linguistics and Literature at the university, understanding more about this universe of words and phonetics and even the universe of other cultures (for example, I studied Armenian and Cape Verdean culture / literature). The more I study, the more I understand how ignorant I am and need to travel and understand different places in the world.
I am very dedicated to my studies, but I also love to do other activities! For example, I am very connected with nature. When I have free time, I usually enjoy traveling in such places, and maybe hiking, swimming, meditating, etc. I am fascinated by some magical places in Brazil (see photo section) and would be extremely happy to bring my guests/international friends around the world there.
At the moment, I'm attempting to finish my studies at university and live in another place. Considering all the things I have mentioned before, I really want to live somewhere in Europe, because I think it's fascinating how it's easy to have access to other languages and cultures. I came from an huge country, so it's not that easy to have contact with other languages (despite the fact that São Paulo is an international city). Also because I have mostly Italian and other European roots (German, Austrian, Portuguese....).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
- Learning languages
- Have a real conversation and moments with people, not visiting only touristic places
- Host people and share my space with new people
I think it's time to explore other places in a different way. I traveled to other countries, but I didn't felt so connected with them, so probably I should change the way that I'm facing these moments. That's why I want to host and be hosted using this platform.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books:
My favorite book is "Brothers Karamazov". I'm fascinated for the Russian literature. I also love poetry, for example, poems of Manuel Bandeira.
Music:
I'm pretty much flexible in this case, I like almost all the kind of music. But my favorite type is instrumental music, i.e., classic music or Arabic oud.
Films:
I usually don't watch films, but one that I really enjoy is "Love and Darkness". I prefer documentaries, and my favorite one is "Surplus", by Erik Gandini
Teach, Learn, Share
I can always teach Portuguese ;) I'm interested in learning languages as much as I'm interested in teaching it. Maybe also to share some cooking skills (?) with each other, because I really love to prepare/eat traditional dishes from different regions in Brazil and try dishes from different places around the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I prefer to talk to specify before arriving, but in general I can prepare some Brazilian food, share and listen stories, etc.
