Overview
About Me
Half American, half Chinese.
Worked in the US. Worked in China. Just quit my job in Beijing and have started one of those world tours. Plan is to just see where the wind takes me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like meeting people from all different walks of life, who have vastly different life experiences and perspectives. Different ages, cultures, religions, political parties.... I learn a lot from all those people.
And like any seasoned traveller, I know that the best experiences come from immersing myself in local culture.
Interests
Acroyoga
Washing Dishes
The Great Wall
Air that doesn't give me cancer (love you too Beijing)
Writing resumes
A good beer (A beer, maybe 2. Not more.)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bought a house. Handled a flood. Moved to Beijing. Traveled solo. Left Beijing. Traveled solo some more.
At the time, those were all very big deals to me. But now I look back and think "wow I guess that's not as difficult/scary as I thought it was"
Teach, Learn, Share
I love introducing people to acroyoga. It's always awesome seeing the look on someone's face the very first time they fly.
I also love helping people write resumes and preparing for interviews. It's my thing.
I grew up with a super Chinese mother, and a super American father, and can share lots of experiences of what it is like to grow up smushed between different cultures.
English is my native language, but I speak read and write Chinese (simplified) very proficiently. Chinese characters can be difficult at first, but are full of nuance and meaning and beauty. I'll teach you what I can.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to handwash dishes. Not to say that I won't use a dishwasher if it's there...but I've always thought there was something nice about scrubbing a dish until is shined. 😁
When I cook by myself, it's bad. But when I cook together with a friend/host...it's awesome!

Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Viet Nam
