Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experiencing the world and other cultures, living out multiple lifetimes through the awesome people I meet!
ABOUT ME
I like meeting people and hearing their stories from all different walks of life. :) I can talk about cultures for hours and love learning about the little tidbits of ways of life. I'm always striving to be more adventurous!
I'm from Texas, and currently live in the Bay Area (San Francisco). I was part of an international student org called AIESEC, which focused on the fostering of international cultural exchange and really embodied what I love about traveling.
PHILOSOPHY
Life really is one big adventure and what you choose to make of it. I do believe this and am always working on trying to push myself into action because of that (I didn't grow up super adventurous...so it's a transition :) )
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Mostly, I've used it to find local events / people to talk to. Haven't actually done the hosting part yet (but one day!).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Not much. Yet. :) Only attended some events so far!
Interests
Cultures, writing, philosophy, psychology, sociology, hearing and sharing stories, enjoying nature and culture...
Music, Movies, and Books
Oh dear...I haven't had too much time for reading lately.
BOOKS - I'm still very much stuck with my childhood. I love my Harry Potter series. :D
MUSIC - I love a whole variety (maybe minus the heavier and really loud ones). I like to listen to instrumentals and soundtrack while I'm working, I enjoy indie, pop, alternate...and just mainstream in general I guess.
TV/MOVIES - Ooh I love Marvel movies. Action/Adventure makes me happy. I do enjoy thought-provoking movies as well though. Christopher Nolan films are great. I love sci-fi/fantasy, so Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and such classics are great.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've worked in a ramen shop near Tokyo one summer despite not really knowing the language. :D
What I Can Share with Hosts
All the answers to all the questions you would ever have about Texas. We all own guns and ride horses to school. Everyone wears cowboy (or girl) boots with spurs and we live in a John Wayne movie. (Just kidding, but if you're curious about the oddness that's American and Texas politics, I can provide some insight!)
Also, a future place to crash at if you ever visit San Francisco (and our real estate is real expensive too)!
Other than that, some Asian culture! I can give you a crash course in Chinese food and how to interpret all those weird sounding food names into something actually appetizing.
