About Me

At 63 I'm enjoying life more than ever.
I've been married -- to the same great guy for nearly 45 years. We have 2 daughters and 3 granddaughters. I've been a teacher for over 30 years, established and ran a tutoring center/ tea shop for about 8 years. My husband and I have started and overseen the successful works of six private schools, currently we have a charter school and live on the same property.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Saw an episode of The Kindness Diaries where a host of CS was featured. Drew me in! Always ready for a less expensive way to travel and meeting people makes it all the better!

Interests

I love meeting people and hearing their stories. I love making new friends. Whether for a few hours, days, years or a lifetime.
My husband and I have had the good fortune of traveling pretty extensively in the USA (seeing about 46 states). I drove solo from Oregon to Texas and loved every minute of it! We've been to Mexico numerous times (Baja CA, and down to Mexico City and Morelia), Canada (mainly to get through to Alaska, but have fond memories of Victoria in British Columbia), and China. I've been to China four times and would go back in a heart beat!
All the travel in the world has been fabulous but being a gramma takes the cake! Because my husband and I are educators and started schools we love sharing our experiences and really enjoy sharing our school. We live in God's country. The woods are directly behind our house and the river is a stone's throw away. Waterfalls and two lakes are close. My latest adventure has been paddleboarding.
