I'm currently a college student studying abroad and just trying to explore the world. I'm extremely outgoing and open to anything. I like discovering things on the off-beaten path, but also love to see the big things cities have to offer.

I love to cook and will be willing to help you cook dinner or bake something for you if you would like! At my school, we do not have cooking facilities, so I constantly have the urge. I am also open to going out to eat something new.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As opposed to a hostel or a hotel, I think Couchsurfing gives the opportunity to truly meet new people. I want to meet the locals and get the best recommendations from someone who lives there instead of a tourist-oriented information desk.
I would love to make some new friends through this, maybe spend the day together. But, I am also very independent so I understand if you would like your own space.

Interests

I am very nature-oriented. I love hiking, seeing the landscape, and breathing fresh air. I tend to walk everywhere I go so I have a chance to fully take in the environment.

I also like to just sit and have engaging conversations, whether it be over coffee/a meal or just sitting on a couch in the loft. I like to think that I know a little about a lot, and am very interested in hearing other's stories and adventures.

On nights that I'm not as laid-back, I like to go out and find cool bars and have great drinks! I love the atmosphere of night life, but will never come back to you belligerent.
I am always up for exploring the city at night, finding its quirks and hidden gems, so if you know of any, show me the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

I tend to read books of poetry, self-discovery, and criminal accounts.
Currently reading:
My Struggle to Become a Person (English), Crime and Disrepute (English), and Pride and Prejudice (Italian).

I am open to all kinds of music, but was mainly raised on 70s rock. My favorite band is and always will be Queen.
Currently listen to: Alabama Shakes, Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys, Local Natives, Stop Light Observations, Passion Pit, Alt-J, Son Lux, KONGOS.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This past year, I participated in a 75 mile bike ride around my state in the 'States to raise money for Smilow Cancer Hospital in Connecticut, USA with my mom, a breast cancer survivor who was cared for by Smilow.

I am also fluent in English, as I am American, and can help you if you are learning.

I've learned many strange things in my life from household tips on how to remove wine stains to the reasons why damaged neighborhoods have higher crime rates than its clean counterpart. Ask me anything and I can try and help you or give my two cents about it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't have much money as a college student but I am willing to bring something you need as a compensation, such as food, laundry detergent etc. Just ask and I can try to help you out!
I like to think I'm very good company so I am down to hang out or give you your privacy.
