About Me
I’ve been fortunate enough to have travelled and lived in many beautiful countries. I studied in Costa Rica and Spain in college. Then after I graduated, I worked as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco for two years and as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan for three years through the JET Programme. I spent the last year backpacking around Australia and now I’m in New Zealand on a working holiday visa.
Upon leaving a country, I always get asked what I’ll miss most about a certain place. Besides the food (I’m a huge foodie), I always miss the people the most! Absolutely there are amazing places to visit (Casablanca, Mt. Fuji, etc.) or things to do (hike, scuba dive, crash a local wedding), but it’s the people I’ve met along the way that have made the places so much more memorable. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing was never something I seriously considered doing until I went to Australia. By chance I made friends with someone who ran a Couchsurfer's BBQ twice a month. I went to every single one and got to know the Couchsurfer's community. I loved how friendly and generous everyone was! Since I was new to Australia, I had a ton of questions, and everyone I met was always more than happy to give plenty of advice. So, I'm on Couchsurfing to continue to meet new and interesting people who I can learn from and, hopefully, I can teach some things too as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music- I love pop music, especially Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.
Movies- I LOVE movies. I've seen so many and I generally liked most. If forced to choose, I'd say may favourites are The Birdcage (1996 version) and the live-action Beauty & the Beast movie with Emma Watson.
Books- Hmm, I don't know that I have a specific favourite book. But my favourite genre is mysteries and thrillers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Scuba dived and swam with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach- I can share any knowledge I possess! I guess my speciality is languages, so if you'd like help with English, Spanish, Arabic or elementary Japanese, I can help you there
Learn- Any info/opinion you have on the city/country I'm staying in, especially current affairs and travel info, I'd love to hear it!
Share- Friendship, stories, advice on getting an adventurous hair color and holiday cheers!
What I Can Share with Hosts
With the holidays coming up, I can make a mean Eggnog, a traditional American Christmas drink.
For the more current affairs and politics minded, I readily keep up-to-date on American news. So if you're interested in hearing the thoughts and opinions on the shenanigans of the Trump presidency from an American backpacker, I'm your girl.
