Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This August, I will be traveling to Berlin and Amsterdam! This is my first big trip and so I want to have experience of a life time! I am nervous but excited at the same time. I am an extrovert and get my energy from meeting people. I want to make new friends, learn your stories, and visit non-touristy attractions!

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone has a story -- there's a reason why your parents are uptight, why that stranger pushed you in line, why she hurt you so badly. Instead of letting yourself be consumed by these negative emotions, focus on healing yourself without thinking badly of those that hurt you (I know, it's tough at first)

I've been lucky enough to adopt this mentality very early on. And honestly, it's so freeing. I've forgiven those that hurt me because I know everyone makes mistakes. I've had strangers yell at me on the street and instead of reacting, I just walk away. There are so many things that factor into a person's behaviour and we never know fully what someone is going through

I can tell you from experience that doing this has a happy ending. Forgiving those that hurt me ended the grudge I had towards them -- a grudge that prevented me from truly living for myself. Surprisingly, I've also gotten apologies over the years that I have totally forgotten about. Being kind is contagious.

Everyone goes through shit and hides it -- just like you. So let's just focus on our own happiness and know that there is a reason behind everyone's action. Let's all have open hearts, smile more, and be the bigger person ☀️☀️
