Overview
About Me
A Tinder date once told me that I was cool because I don't take myself too seriously, and I thought that was rad.
American living in Amsterdam for 3 years, after some years in Mallorca and Italy.
I'm #1 happiest when I'm surrounded by good soulmate friends and I love creating community with different groups of cool humans. I'm #2 happiest when embarking on some crazy adventure or experience that is totally new and maybe disorients you a little bit. I think above all though, my favorite adventures and experiences tend to depend on who I share them with.
In a concise summary of myself as a person in general: I think I would be a good children's book character, except for the times when I make low-key questionable decisions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to experience new places through the people I meet who live there. I want to see what your real life is like. If I want to travel some place, it's because I want to see what it's like to make tacos and play African music jam sessions with the nicest people in Oslo, or something like that.
Interests
Playing the cello, learning the drums. Actually I will happily pick up any instrument and give it a go (with varying degrees of success, though usually positive results), for the sake of an impromptu jam session. Good wine and shitty beer. Fútbol/soccer. Bouldering. Horse riding. Getting lost in the woods, or walking for miles along the beach. Board games.

Music, Movies, and Books
Top 3 best concerts I've ever been to: Brandi Carlile (folk/Americana, Raleigh North Carolina), Bombino (desert blues/African rock, Amsterdam), Che Sudaka (Spanish pop punk ska, Amsterdam).
Favorite movie(s) will always be the Mighty Ducks franchise.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I volunteered on an equine therapy farm for 2 years while I was in grad school and learned how to be a horse whisperer. Neigh.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a trained linguist I can acoustically measure and quantify your individual vowel sounds, and make you a graph of your accent (what?!). I can also teach you how to make easy marinara sauce from scratch so you'll never buy it in the jar again.
