About Me

CURRENT MISSION

PhD...

ABOUT ME

I study radical/defiant rhetorics and cultural performance theory. I like to howl at the moon.
I thrive on:
dancing, communicating (with and/or without words) , hoops, the great outdoors, being challenged and inspired, and
the way fire smells.

PHILOSOPHY

I think that life is meant to be enjoyed, and for me, a big part of enjoying life is diving into all of the contrast and variety that is so wonderfully (and painfully) available to us. I believe that everything holds magic, and our task is simply to find the perspective with which to see the magic.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies- Almost Famous, Battle Royale, Evil Dead 2, V for Vendetta, Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Music- David Bowie, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, Beats Antique, Goldfrapp, Janis Joplin, Gogol Bordello, etc... anything I can get down to/ any circus music.

Books- Off the Map, Ishmael, A Language Older than Words, Brave New World, Waiting for Godot, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Lives on the Boundary

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to a Greenpeace Workshop/Retreat on How to Organize a Campaign from the ground up in 2007, Burning Man in 2010, attended Hoop Convergence in 2011, Bonnaroo in 07, 08, 09, and 12, and numerous smaller burn-festivals, arts festivals, renaissance festivals, and music festivals.
I've also had the pleasure of meeting some pretty amazing desert sunsets, redwood forests, roaring waterfalls, smokey mountains and sparkling springs.
AND I get to teach college students and mentor high school students about research and writing, which is amazing every day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be honored to teach anything about vegan cooking, hula hooping, yoga, composition/ writing, or rhetorical theory and analysis.

I'd like to learn more about permaculture, and learn more about other languages.
