ABOUT ME

I've been in Alaska 20 years now and still love it. I've been fortunate to have explored much of the state and have seen done many wonderful things here. I love to meet all kinds of people. My goal is live a simple life and travel the world. I currently work at a dental office (scary huh!?) But I love it because I get to meet and help so many different people. My youngest son will be on his own soon and I am looking forward to doing some traveling and maybe living in other countries for a while. I enjoy the outdoors. I like to be out on the water fishing and sight seeing on the ocean.

PHILOSOPHY

Judge no one. Give back. Give love. Spread joy. We all just want to love and be loved. The older I get the more I discover that less really is more. It's about people--not things. Every living thing is precious and we must have respect and honor ourselves and our environment. HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love to visit everywhere, at least once! And I'd really like to meet people from everywhere. Living in Alaska has given me the opportunity to host people from all over the world and I have been enriched by each encounter. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories. I plan to head off on my own adventure soon and am looking forward to connecting with many new people along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have lots of friends I've hosted and stayed with over the years and had a great time surfing with the new friends I met in Hawaii when my oldest son graduated from U of H. He's the one who turned me on to this site. He is AWESOME. He has lots of great stories about couchsurfing. I've had a chance to host a few people and have thoroughly enjoyed each experience!

Interests

I love to fish in the ocean, go camping & dig for clams. Flying in small planes is one of my favorite things to do. I'm really picky about food, whole healthy organic and raw when possible. Anything healthy and natural suits me. The best is sharing amusing stories about people and places around a campfire or fireplace. In the winter I enjoy cross country skiing. Mostly I love to travel and meet new people. Oh, and dancing, I love dancing!(usually alone and in my living room)lol

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Under the Tuscan Sun, A Walk in the Clouds. Into the Wild was better than I thought it would be. Loved his philosopy about life and his wandering ways. I loved the Secret and really believe in its message. I like all kinds of books and am a psychology and self-help book junkie. I like to read about other places and cultures. Latest read was If you lived here I'd know your name by Heather Lende(great Alaskan stories!) Music: Owl City, Milosh, Gotye, Nora Jones, Sarah MacLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Loreena McKennitt, James Taylor and anything jazz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How about a giant grey whale surfacing 50 ft. from my 18 ft. boat. It was amazing. Also a favorite--the Northern lights on a crisp cold winter morning. Soaking in a wood fired hot tub under the stars after spending the day skiing or snow shoeing.
