About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live in the moment and embrace life! With all its good, bad and ugly moments, the highs and lows.

ABOUT ME

I'm born and bred in a beautiful little island in Malaysia -- Penang. I love the sun, sea and sand and quite recently, cultivating a love for the Arctic chill. Currently a digital nomad, usually adventurous, occasionally curious, can be extremely bookish, always on the go, friendly, a bit crazy (just a little) ;-)

Just came back to Malaysia for a few months after spending most of the past one year living in Northwest Territories, Canada and occasionally exploring the other parts of the country including a road-and-camping-trip starting from Yellowknife all the way south to Vancouver by way of the Canadian Rockies, before crossing over the border to Seattle. So if you're headed that way or planning to do so at some point, feel free to ask me questions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosted only once, in Munich and it was such a good experience so I hope there will be plenty more opportunities in the future to meet wonderful strangers out there to share my journeys with.

I've also been actively involved since mid-2014 with a bunch of vibrant and cool folks from the CS community in George Town, Penang (my hometown), where we organise meet-ups every Friday evening at a cafe in town to meet with travellers , offer travel advice and also take time to show our new friends the wonderful little island of Penang and George Town city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This usually involves much street art and street food hunting and of course, eating! So if you ever plan on visiting Malaysia, I'd be more than happy to share good insider's tips and of course, if you're in George Town, you should definitely join in the weekly CS meet-up there. You won't regret it, I promise!

Interests

I enjoy music, cooking & baking, watching & playing sports (my main sport is volleyball but I also occasionally run and practise yoga), the outdoors (trekking, camping, chilling on a beach, exploring a city on foot), indulging in the healing power of nature, meeting people, eating good food, getting lost in a good book or an interesting new place.

At the moment, I'm also learning to live and travel more consciously and sustainably by finding joy & beauty in the simple things in life, and hopefully, reduce the urge to spend and consume.
