Easy going and love to enjoy life. I have travelled to a few places and enjoy getting to know the local culture. I have only ever been on a few typical holidays, I normally stay in places through work experience, student exchange program or more recently on a travelling scholarship.

I enjoy meeting new people and sharing life experience. I would much rather go out and explore or have conversations than just staring at a TV! I have been fascinated with wildlife since a child and thankfully have gotten into the industry, I have worked in zoos; as a ranger on a nature reserve and as an ecologist.

In the past I was a chef for many years and even had my own bakery/café, so I am good at cooking (and washing up!) and I am tidy. I enjoy food and trying out new things as well as eating out. I also enjoy going for walks in nature and exploring cities too. I enjoy going to see art galleries and seeing music concerts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This year I am travelling to the USA as a Nottingham Roosevelt Memorial Scholar to understand more on how to engage the youth with nature conservation and species re-introduction programs. My trip will last 11 weeks and will see me going to 11 States as well as going across the border into Canada.

Interests

Passionate about conservation and the environment, I wish to work towards a world where the environment and humanity can live together. I like to study relationships and interactions, having undertaken research in animal behaviour (mixed species troop of primates) and more recently have become fascinated with bats. Currently studying an MSc in Endangered Species Recovery with an aim to undertake research and inform policy.
