About Me

Petting cats and drinking tea while working towards a world with more theatre in it.

I'm was raised in the dark and snowy New England and now reside in the dark and rainy Pacific Northwest, where I study acting and business and work as house manager for a local theater. My interests include dance, fiber arts, literature, the intersection between social issues and the arts, and of course travel!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe one of the most valuable things about traveling is the connections that can be made along the way. I value the chance to immerse myself in a new place and see it through the eyes of people who experience it every day, rather than simply pass through as a tourist.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like my music atmospheric and witchy. Chelsea Wolfe, Myrkur, Florence and the Machine, Wolves in the Throne Room, etc. I also love folk artists like Sj Tucker, Anais Mitchell and Brittain Ashford, and dark cabaret such as Jill Tracy and Charming Disaster.

My taste in movies pretty much boils down to "ones that are good" without much preference for any specific genre. A few favorites include Sunset Boulevard, Mad Max: Fury Road, Stoker, Addams Family Values, and The Love Witch.

As for books, I tend to gravitate towards dark, character-driven fantasy and classic British literature. The Bronte sisters, Neil Gaiman, Catherynne Valente, Robin McKinely, Angela Carter, Oscar Wilde.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moved from rural Maine to Seattle with just a backpack when I was 18. I had never visited Seattle or spent a significant amount of time in a city, but I knew I had to find more opportunities than my tiny home town could offer. It was terrifying and difficult and I wouldn't exactly recommend it, but it opened so many doors and I'm so grateful to be where I am today.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to help with cooking and cleaning, and will fawn over your pets. I'm a pretty low-impact guest as I need will need time to recharge after a long day, but I'm also happy to socialize and be useful.
