About Me

I am a patient, calm, curious being, interested in many different fields or hobbies, arts, handcrafts, sciences (specially physics), philosophy, languages and cultures and, yet if I've lately lived quite a regular life, I stay willing to test the boundaries of my comfort zones..! I got luckily surrounded by interesting people in my life with whom one can enjoy nice conversations, creating or doing art, learning and sharing what life has to offer: I’m happily amazed by this world, from its tiny things to the greatest events in the Universe!

Here's the link to the profile of my girlfriend; sometimes we host together as well! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love getting to know other people, other points of view, ways to approach culture, society, ideas, words, music, languages, food, ways to live and think... and definitely so many of you are still out there with fantastic exciting lives with whom I’d be delighted to cross paths with! I'm here to meet people, host travelers and surf while being abroad, attend to events... share, share, share! Maybe I can't assure you to have always time, but I'll try to do my best!

Interests

Whatever related to art, cooking and baking, physics-maths-science, board games, nature, hiking, meeting new people and experiencing other ways to think, to do things, to see, to live... I also love Nature: Hiking and being in the mountains or forest, camping, swimming in rivers or lakes, watching starry nights...

I enjoy reading, learning languages and creating with my hands: drawing has been a passion since I can remember, architecture or restoring old buildings my job for a long time, and carving wood or stones a hobby I keep wanting to do every time more often! :) Also music, cooking... Certainly traveling and knowing new people and cultures is the best way to do all of this together! I think it's better though to discover those things "live", talking with someone (like you!), doing activities together!

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately I've discovered I’m not quite used to have music around while I do other things, even if I enjoy it, I enjoy silence as well :) I like Bach (such a mathematician...!), Chopin, Fauré and such, but also Beatles, Bobby Mcferrin, Django Reinhardt, Andy Timmons, or other Gipsy Jazz, Balcan, etc.... This is what I have usually heard, but there is so much music that I have no idea of... feel free always to recommend your favourites!

With movies it may happen the same: yet I enjoy twist endings and films which bring surprising moments or thoughts: some films like The Usual Suspects, the Fight Club, Persona, Stalker, the 7th Seal, Metropolis, Joker, Inception, (anything by Monty Python), Up... oh. True, I love animated films, anime, manga movies and comics. Have you seen “la maison en petits cubes”? :)

And books. I love definitely to try and overlap diverse at the same time, but my best experiences reading were with “Min Kamp” I (A Death in the Family) and II (A man in love) (by Knausgård), The world until yesterday (by Diamond), Crime and Punishment, Notes from Underground (by Dostojewski), the Epic of Gilgamesh, The Odissey, The Story of a Shipwrecked Sailor (by García Márquez)... Yet these are mainly novels, epics or autobiographies, I read much more often non-fiction books. I have enjoyed the most all books I’ve read of/by Richard Feynman, also some by Neil deGrasse and Stephen Hawking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like to think, that I haven't done-seen it yet -the most amazing thing-! Have to search further!

Quite an individual but beautiful moment was while sitting at -20ish degrees Celsius on a ferry sailing through the fjord of Trondheim under a starry night sky, traveling after a nice Christmas meal with a Norwegian-german family, getting frozen in the company of an already frozen salmon, as seeing (and not believing it) amazing greenish northern lights fill the whole sky vault..!

Or just any random moment, around the globe, in which a reciprocate smile appears among an unknown human being and me! Just because.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm sure that one can always learn something from everyone on this planet, in any situation or moment, if the openness and interest are there :) I hope I can still be open to anything you bring with yourselves, apart from what I can offer!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share any languages I have, cooking, handicrafts, artistic-creative moments, conversations about life, mind, science, order or chaos, humanity or/and nature, astrophysics or chocolate, termites or urbanism, art or maths, Kant or Marx, Mesopotamia or medieval cathedrals, we can meditate vipassana together or anything you want to! To grab a drink or something to eat and do a hike together, or a bike trip, just a matter of time and wishes!
