About Me

I am currently pursuing a master's degree at Harvard University, trying to understand better how to make the world a better place!

My travel mantra:
One's destination is never a place, but rather a new way of looking at things. (Henry Miller)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After seeing a handful of places, I realized I am a tourist but lacks on becoming a traveller. I am essentially looking for a new way to travel - not really about finding something original, or a new experience to post and brag about - but more of getting away with the meticulous planning and opening things to surprises! I heard a lot about couchsurfing, and I wish that it will be a turning point that will change the way I see the world.

Interests

I would not mind spending hours in a cafe shop, a full day in a museum, and weeks in a place admiring its heritage and falling in love with its version of everyday life.

I also recently became keen on visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and it's been quite a thrill to use the WHS List as a bucket list.

I can speak intermediate Spanish and I enjoy learning it! Now I love to meet someone to help me learn French.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Braved the 2011 civil unrest in Egypt just to see the Great Pyramids

- Defied the 2010 protests and curfew in Bangkok just to visit Wat Arun

- Forgot to check the car's radiator and got stranded in the blind spot/ascending curve of a busy national highway due to overheating, just to check the World Heritage Church of Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur

- Survived one week in Paris even if all my cash and passport got robbed in the train station

Turning the unfortunate events to amazing memories!
