About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm Angelo from Izegem, Belgium. I studied in Ghent and decided to stay after my education. I’m very social so I spend a lot of time with friends. I'm an ambitious and creative dreamer that wants to accomplish a lot, so I work hard to achieve my goals. I like to laugh, and people tell me I can make others laugh too! 😉
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would like to meet new people from all over the world by letting them stay with me and show around Ghent if they want to.
Interests
I love to relax in a park with a bottle of wine, other people, and some music... but having a few beers in a bar or going out and having fun at night isn't a wrong way of spending my time either. Actually, there's isn't much I don't like as I'm really curious about the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music, and I'm really open-minded. It's my belief there aren't any bad genres. When I go out, I like electronic music (EDM, Techno, House…). At home, I always look for something new, listen to rock, pop... or I just turn on some discover playlist on Spotify.
Movies are a bit the same, I’m afraid. My favourite actors are Matt Damon, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughy, Helena Bonham Carter, Leonardo Dicaprio... and sometimes I binge-watch the hell out of Netflix (Suits, The Blacklist, House of Cards, How I Met Your Mother...).
Also, reading is my cup of tea. I mostly read books from Dutch and Flemish authors like Herman Brusselmans, Dimitri Verhulst... and historical books, stuff about management, leadership, marketing, psychology, society… Biographies are on my bookshelf too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'll never forget my visit to the library of the Clementinum in Prague. This certainly was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen (I've put a picture online). It isn't a large library, but the atmosphere was amazing, and it was really authentical. It felt like I stood in a movie scene.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to improve my languages, but as there are still some other languages on my to-learn list (Chinese, Swedish, Italian...), I would appreciate some beginner's basics as well! I can « teach » people Dutch and speak English fluently.
Besides languages, I'm also quite interested in technology (and everything linked to it) or architecture, history... I'm also really into different cultures, so being around others is already interesting enough for me!
I can explain how to play chess (not an expert, not a beginner either) or share my knowledge of Belgian beers! There's still a lot I want to learn someday, but a dream coming true would be playing an instrument. I always had a soft spot for the violin, but the piano would be awesome too!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Besides a place to sleep, obviously. I like to cook, so if you're happy with a Flemish meal, I'm your man! I also know much about Ghent and its history, so I believe I would make a good guide! When you don't care about the magnificent medieval centre or Ghent's excellent offer of musea, I'm also a decent nightlife or restaurant guide! If you like to hang out with a bunch of people, I guess I'll borrow some of my friends as well!
