About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The world is divided in two categories: those who divide the world in two categories and those who don't (T.Robbins)

ABOUT ME

Passionate for food of any origin. Did incur in several mishaps by tasting stuff on the streets of unlikely places, but cannot refrain from that. It's always too much fun to taste fried oysters on the Golden Horn in Istanbul, or Dahl Bat in the hills of Nepal, or Truffes à la Crème Savarin Dans le Nid des Oiseaux Printanières Le Premièr Jour d'Eté (the most dangerous item, I must say).
Passionate of travels, photohgraphy, theatre, reading, hiking, yoga, art in any form.
Somehow concerned about politics -- especially when it comes to how we are mistreating the environment, but much less when it comes to the silly things our esteemed Mr. B. (erlusconi) does to make us Italians ashamed throughout the world.
I like to wander without a map in a new town, to meet people, to find ways to communicate (though sometimes that can be a challenge).
I'm not that much into sports, and though I do not dislike bar-hopping, it is not my first choice. So far, haven't figured out what types of music I like -- I can pretty much enjoy anything from Italian songwriters, Portuguese fado all the way to full-on trance. I may have some issues with psy-dark trance and I definitely dislike heavy metal. I am definitely not fashion conscious.

PHILOSOPHY

I should put some memorable quote about the way to live, right? Well...........I guess, I stumble, I rock, I stutter on this question. That's what the whole kaboodle is about though....right?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I would just like to figure out what CS is and how it works. I can contribute by cooking though, with great pleasure!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted a few people, met some CSers in Finland (nice experience).

Music, Movies, and Books

"You talking to me?"
"..on those remote pages it is written that animals are divided into (a) those that belong to the Emperor, (b) embalmed ones, (c) those that are trained, (d) suckling pigs, (e) mermaids, (f) fabulous ones, (g) stray dogs, (h) those that are included in this classification, (i) those that tremble as if they were mad, (j) innumerable ones, (k) those drawn with a very fine camel's hair brush, (l) others, (m) those that have just broken a flower vase, (n) those that resemble flies from a distance."
"Pleased to meet you. Hope you guess my name"
"ZANG TUMB TUMB"
"....che ti avvicina solo per un suo dubbio impertinente"
"... it is rather an enquiry whose aim is to rediscover on what basis knowledge and theory became possible; within what space of order knowledge is constituted... Such an enterprise is not so much a history, in the traditional meaning of the word, as an "archaeology"
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe"
"We will talk of it later," said Anna Pavlovna with a smile."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

One of the key issues in making gnocchi is the amount of starch in the potatoes. If they are too fresh, their small amount of starch will make the gnocchi decompose in the boiling water. If ther are too old, their high amount of starch will make them rock-hard when boiled. At 90, my grandmother still had times when gnocchi did not come out right.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, India, South Africa, Turks and Caicos Islands

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Italy, United States
