Overview
About Me
I'm a homeschooled hippie kid from California who's somehow found himself running a social impact company with the mission of bringing solar energy to the 1.2 billion people living without access to power. I spent my childhood following my dad's psychedelic rock band around the west coast, from San Francisco to Seattle.
Outside of my entrepreneurial pursuits (which seem to constantly be trying to devour my life) I am a musician, outdoorsman. In my spare time I am either playing folk music (mandolin) or rock climbing (outdoors).
I invision myself someday being an old hermit in the woods.
PHILOSOPHY
I am in the pursuit of happiness.
Living is a lifelong journey of learning.
My goal is to learn to balance my time. I have spent long periods focusing only on academics, others only on music, others on festivals and celebration. What I have learned is that my life must be a mixture of all these things: work, adventure, and relaxation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am traveling the world for work, trying to meet interesting people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I attended a weekly gathering in Lisbon Portugal. Several of my best friends, as well as my girlfriend use couchsurfing regularly both as hosts and travelers. The people I have met through them have been some of the most interesting I have ever had the pleasure of making an acquaintance.
Interests
When I'm not traveling for work, I am usually hanging from a cliff or wrestling large pebbles. My ideal "night out" is a campfire surrounded by friends eating home cooked food.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A little over a year ago while seeking solitude in a forested canyon I quite literally stumbled upon a similarly lost soul lying in the leaves 30 feet below his nest. Charlie, the 4 week old squirrel, desperately needed some assistance with hydration and nourishment, and I desperately needed a cuddly little bundle of joy crawling all over my trailer in the woods. I took time off my job to take care of him and was rewarded 10 weeks later with a friendly adult squirrel who is completely independent, yet willing to climb on my shoulder to enjoy the occasional peanut.

Teach
Juggling: Balls, Pins, Rings, Things on Fire
Enthusiastic Amateur Mycologist: I like finding things growing in your yard, identifying and then eating them.
Paleoclimatology: I work within a very small field of researchers studying the causes and effects of historic climate change.
Cooking: I dont like following recipes, I like playing mad scientist! I'm told that my concoctions are edible ;)
Learn
I am very interested in yoga, dance, and other artistic forms of exercise. As someone who has suffered several serious injuries, I am always curious to learn how do YOU keep your body healthy. I am also interested in learning about dietary health, vegetarianism, and veganism.
Share
Song, Dance, and Storytelling. The best traditions are those that are never written down.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have spent the last 3 years starting a mission driven renewable energy company. We recently installed a system in Puerto Rico, and currently working to install several more in rural alaska. I love to talk about all things entrepreneurial and renewable.
