ABOUT ME

I am originally from Rio de Janeiro but have lived in India, Turkey and have been a resident in the uk for over 8 years.

I am a graduate of Anthropology at UCL, in London, and have recently moved to Newquay in Cornwall, southwest of England. I plan to save some money to continue my studies into a masters programme but in the mean time am looking forward to escaping the rat race and enjoying life, surfing, sunshine, nature, good vibes and all the simple things in life.

I wrote my dissertation on spirituality in Surfing and i guess these are two spheres in my life that are close to my heart. I have learnt to understand and love Yoga as well as meditation. This has given me a new outlook in life.

Prior to finishing my degree I had become a promoter at my university, aiming to start an alternative scene where cultural events were created in order to diversify the experience of university students.

It involved curating events promoting university's music culture as well as poetry and fashion societies, whilst putting quality bands on, often from outside the UK. Some of the names that played the night include, Bombay Bicycle Club, Cate Le Bon, Brakes, So So Modern, Heartsrevolution, The Chap, and many others.

I am opened to many things in general, like to have a lot of fun, and work very intensely at achieving the things I am focused on.

I aim to learn to cook well, as well as develop my painting and songwriting skills, all of which have been left behind in pursuit of other things.

In my own way, i feel i have experienced and understood different world views, as well as different personal economic situations. This way I am flexible and relative to ones outlook in life given their upbringing/background.

My main passions are surfing, snowboarding, skating, music, art, yoga, meditation.

I love to love and learn.
I love good company, friendly and opened people.

Anyway, if you read this, remember that a few words on a virtual space is not really the real thing.

PHILOSOPHY

Previously I considered myself too young to know or have a certain philosophy, however I presently believe that you are what you do. You are the present. You are not what you did or what you are going to do, you are what you do. The past and future are obviously important in dictating what you are, as the saying goes, to understand where you are going we gotta know where we come from.
However i still stand by the belieft that the person/personality doesnt have to be a static thing. I believe in giving others a chance, and it can be infinite the chances if we are to take the time to understand the other. Chance to change or progress. I believe in retaining innocence whilst one matures. I believe in believing in others. I believe in myself.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I need to get more involved. Unfortunately I have been unable to host people in my last two accomodations but I think it is a really good thing to be able to provide free acommodation to strangers, in the process getting to know different people, making friends and helping the world spin in new ways. I would like to find a good balance of giving and receiving. Anyone that puts me up can expect me to retribute. Also its easy free Karma for hosts, jk. but true.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

many. This is so subjective though.

perhaps good things have been achieved by talking to someone, or a stranger, that was in need of some kind. These non-obvious amazing things are felt more than thought about.

Now things iv seen... theres few things quite like sitting on a surf board, in the sea, in a warm/temperate climate, watching the sun go down. Or maybe standing on a high mountain top covered in snow, and have the sight of snowy mountains all around you.

and then either flowing as one with the water or the snow, or completely shredding both to pieces.
