About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn as much about the world as possible and to form genuine, deep connections with people.
ABOUT ME
A year ago I craved adventure so badly...I could think of nothing but travelling, of seeing new sights and experiencing new cultures. So I quit my research job, got on a plane to a country I'd never been to (and where I didn't know a single person), and I made a new life for myself in beautiful Prague. It took me a while to get settled in, but I've really grown to love it and think of it as my second home.
After nearly a year of teaching English here in Prague, I'm ready to explore more and see what else the world has to offer! I love learning and trying new things and meeting people from all different backgrounds. Originally, I'm from a small town just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, in the Midwestern United States, but I long to be a citizen of the world :). I got my first real taste of travel when I studied abroad in London during university, and I loved it so much that I knew it was only a matter of time before I had to go back and explore even further!
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in living openly and passionately. I strive to be open both with my feelings and to new ideas and experiences. And if something is worth doing, it's worth doing 100%.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really want to meet local people on my travels, so I can connect more with the culture. A lot of people visit other countries without ever interacting with the locals or seeing their perspective, and I think Couchsurfing is a great way to change that.
Interests
In my free time, I enjoy relaxing with a book (outside, if the weather's nice), and when inspiration strikes me, I write (mostly short fiction). I run, too, but not very fast :). I'm a vegetarian, and I love animals.
Things that make me happy: chilling with good people and good wine, climbing things (towers, domes, and hills) to find amazing views, passionate discussions/debates, and spicy food.
