About Me

Hi everyone! This is Angie, a proud Hongkonger! My Chinese name is 鍾凱而 as in Chung Hoi Yee. I am a year two undergraduate student studying English. I enjoy studying all sorts of linguistics phenomena and reading novels and poems. I did a bit of drama as well (Yes thats my team winning the Champion in the Andrew Parkin Cup, the annual drama competition in my department, in one of the group photos). In my free time, I work as a part-time English tutor in primary schools.

I guess the love for travelling is in my blood as I remember, I have always wanted to travel across the globe since I was a small kid. One image that recurs in my brain vividly is my design of a moving tent that consists of two bicycles, each will be ridden by my little sister and me. Now that I have grown up older I realised i am physically incapable of doing that... as I am kind of lazy in terms of exercising hahahaXD

So now that I have saved up enough money, I am going to my first ever backpacking trip! And the destination will be western Europe! Exciting! After that, in September, I am going to be an exchange student at the University of Helsinki in Finland. Hopefully I will get to travel in Northern and Eastern Europe then.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting new friends and immerse myself in new cultures! I figured couchsurfing is the best way to know real local life. Hope to see you soon!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taught kids and made them fall in love with English literature, view the world in a broader scope and be kind and respectful to others. These are the three main qualities I want to see in my students.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Cantonese and Traditional Written Chinese
Learn: Anything!
Share: My very limited knowledge about the world, and hopefully sufficient knowledge about Hong Kong:)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hong Kong food culture (I like food and certainly I can cook a few dishes)
Photography (I will bring my own shots of my amazing hometown that is Hong Kong)
House chores (simple tasks like sweeping the floor and cleaning the table, as I probably will suffer from jet lag and be too tired to take up too much work sorry:(, I recall I slept for like half the time i was in Canada in the first two weeks)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Russian Federation, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
