Overview
About Me
I am positive and easy-going with a passion for learning and self-improvement. Meeting new people, traveling, and experiencing new places are some of my greatest joys. I find that travel is a necessity to truly appreciate your own life, town, friends, job, etc. After every trip, I find myself more centered and full of appreciation for the home to which I am returning.... And eagerly looking forward to the next trip.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have several friends who have used this site with great success. I hope this allows me to travel more while experiencing places in a more genuine way, with a local person. I love the concept of a community that is open, trusting, and inviting, encouraging a connection between "strangers" that hopefully turns into a valuable positive experience. As a host, I think it would be nice to see my own area fresh, through the eyes of guests, showing them around, rediscovering how great it is.
Interests
Self-improvement of all types, fitness, good nutrition and great food (beer is food, right?), movies, music, festivals, animal welfare/volunteering, art, good conversation, cool people!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I showed up at my local Roller Derby team's practice with the intent to join and make the team, with absolutely no ability to skate... 9 months and many bruises later, I made the team and was in my first bout. Overcoming the fear and inability was humbling and exhilarating.
