About Me

We are a young "retired" couple whom have taken time out to travel around the world over the last 12 years. We have circuited around via Central Asia, the Stan's, Mongolia and into the U.S. , travelled the length of South America to the southernmost point and have just returned from 2 years in Southern Africa.
We have a house in Wales ( self build) which we lease whilst travelling.
Currently we are back in the UK helping out with family and friends, until we decide upon our next expedition in 2018.
We both had smallholdings prior to our travels and so have experience with a variety of animals from pigs to ponies. We also kept our own dogs and quite miss being able to do so now, as keeping a pet isn't ideal with our nomadic lifestyle.
We are vegetarian, non smokers, moderate drinkers and have a flexible, practical approach to all we do.
We are members of Workaway/ helpx type groups and have been involved with organic gardening, looking after rescue donkeys and dogs and have also house-sat on numerous occasions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Though we haven't used Couchsurfing much recently, when we first began travelling, we mostly used it whilst visiting cities. We couchsurfed in Seoul, Berkeley ( CA) and Tokyo.
We loved the experience of meeting people in their homes and were often given useful information and sometimes even given personal tours. We have always found it a much more interesting and rewarding experience than using other accommodation.

Music, Movies, and Books

We listen to a variety of music from British pop to World music. We especially enjoy collecting music from the places that we've visited.
As far as movies are concerned, we like plot driven rather than SFX type films. My all time favourite is Orlando
Favourite authors.......Isabel Allende, Margaret Atwood, Jodie Picoult, Lee Child, Tony Park, and all those non fiction writers of travel guides!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many to choose from....
But this one jumped into my head....toasting marshmallows in a lava flow on top of a Guatemalan volcano.
